I had a teacher once, lived in a really liberal neighborhood. Always saw bumper stickers telling people nuclear=bad, homos are okay, save the whales. So she got a bumper sticker that said "Nuke the gay whales!" Seriously, the joke's always on them. They're too far gone to get it. Funny, for nature lovers, they don't really get natural ecology.

Now actually think for a second what would happen if we all went back to the "good old days" of wood-burning stoves. We have only become LESS wasteful, however we use more energy total thanks to increased population. The obvious solution is nuclear+solar. But solar panels have a scary little bit of mercury, and nuclear automatically means Chernobyl disaster every time it's implemented. Hippies are here for everyone else's entertainment. It's to bad they're finally hijacking politics. Ecological responsibility is good, but this ridiculous sentimentality is not.
