It sounds like they are going to be basing it on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse which is set in the late 1400’s. Makes sense because it features an interesting cast of characters that Trevor Belmont can interact with, including the first appearance of series favorite, Alucard.

I think it’ll be its’ own story, not based directly on lore. It would be best and not inadvertently intimidating as its’ own contained “TV/Cinematic” universe cuz the original timeline’s admittedly a huge convoluted mess.
