As a kid if you liked Lego you no doubt came across the classic Lego plane which looked great but of course didn’t actually fly.

Well, one RC plane builder, Adam Woodworth an aerospace engineer, decided that he wanted to see that plane fly, so he recreated it—not from Lego sadly but built to the same design as the Lego plane. And, despite its unaerodynamic design, it flies!

Behind all the action and drama, Star Wars is essentially a story about a family, albeit a family that likes to attack each other with lightsabers.

This Lego stop motion animation imagines the behind the scenes where Luke is just another stroppy kid getting fed up with his dad who so doesn’t understand him. Gahd!

The abs, the breathless desire, everything from the original is here, but it’s better because its Lego.

And you’ll no doubt find it with far more powerful character chemistry and far more compelling acting.

The grim horror of over a 1,000,000 casualties on both sides isn’t quite so potent in Lego form, but it’s an impressive recreation nonetheless.

Things have come a long way since those days with an amazing approach to detail, workings and reconstruction of the real thing and you’ll find out in this video just how much workthat goes behind the design of a Lego Technic 42030 Volvo L350F Wheel Loader, it’s very appealing.

To create the toy version of this real world piece of construction equipment the design team went to meticulously-detailed lengths.

The result is a complex, remote-controlled model which replicates all the features of the actual L350F, the largest of Volvo’s wheel loaders.

The films shows how the team shrunk the giant vehicle to create the miniature version, which has 1,600 pieces and can lift more than 1kg in its bucket and drive over hardcore terrain.

“We tried to make it as realistic as possible, so it drives, steers and lifts the load just like the real thing,” says design manager Jeppe Juul Jensen . “You can also remove the oil filters, the radiator-door swings out, pistons move and the engine is painted green, just like in the real thing.”
